Use for polar or partially ionic semiconductors with longitudinal optical (LO) phonon modes (e.g., GaAs, InSb, III-V compounds, II-VI compounds). Particularly important when the material has a partially ionic lattice and optical phonon effects dominate over deformation potential scattering.
