You have a limited number of things you can care about. Most people spend their limited caring on things that don't matter. The question isn't how to stop caring — it's what to care about instead.
Not everything is your fault, but everything in your life is your responsibility. Fault is about the past. Responsibility is about the present. You can't control what happens to you, but you always control your response.
The more you pursue feeling good, the worse you feel. The more you pursue feeling bad (difficulty, discomfort, challenge), the better you feel. Happiness comes from solving problems, not from avoiding them.
Certainty is the enemy of growth. The people who improve fastest are the ones who hold their beliefs loosely and update them when evidence changes. Being wrong is not failure — it's how learning works.

Healthy values are: reality-based, socially constructive, immediate and controllable. Unhealthy values are: superstitious, socially destructive, and not immediate or controllable. "Being popular" is an unhealthy value (you can't control it). "Being honest" is a healthy value (you can).
