Unit Structure

• Large commands: 10,000 cavalry (万骑)
• Small commands: Several thousand cavalry
• Total: 24 commanders titled "Wanqi" (万骑 - Commander of Ten Thousand Horse)

• 千长 (Thousand Commander)
• 百长 (Hundred Commander)
• 什长 (Ten Commander)
• 裨小王 (Minor Kings)
• 相 (Ministers)
• 封都尉 (Frontier Commandants)
• 当户 (Household Chiefs)
• 且渠 (Qüqu officials)

Territorial Division

Eastern Region (Left)

• Commanded by Left Wise King and Left-side commanders
• Extends from Shanggu toward: Huimo, Chaoxian (Korea)

Western Region (Right)

• Commanded by Right Wise King and Right-side commanders
• Extends from Shangjun toward: Yuezhi, Di, Qiang peoples

Central Region

• Shanyu's court (单于之庭)
• Located near Dai and Yunzhong

Noble Clans

Three aristocratic families:

• 呼衍氏 (Huyan clan)
• 兰氏 (Lan clan)
• 须卜氏 (Xubu clan)
