Unresolved questions the researcher keeps circling. For each:

• The question
• Why it matters
• Source references
• Related themes

compiled/tensions.md

Contradictions or tensions between different notes or ideas. For each:

• The tension (X says A, but Y says B)
• Why it matters
• Source references on both sides
• Possible resolution directions

compiled/assumptions.md

Assumptions that appear important but unexamined. For each:

• The assumption
• Where it appears
• Why it might be wrong
• Source references

compiled/candidate_prompts.md

Ideas worth surfacing to the researcher. For each:

• Prompt type (hypothesis / contradiction / missing_link / assumption / gap / next_step)
• The prompt itself
• Why it's interesting
• Source references
• Freshness (is this from recent material or older)

compiled/daily_digest_state.md

Track what has been surfaced before to avoid repetition:

• Last prompt date
• Last prompt type and summary
• Recently surfaced themes (to deprioritize)
• Queue of candidate prompts not yet used

Analysis guidelines

• Look for cross-document patterns — themes that appear in multiple unrelated sources
• Identify implicit contradictions — places where the researcher seems to hold conflicting views
• Find missing connections — ideas in one source that relate to ideas in another but aren't linked
• Surface unexamined assumptions — beliefs that are stated as given but not justified
• Note evolution of thinking — where views have shifted over time
• Prioritize recent material but don't ignore older sources if they contain unresolved threads

Always cite sources as relative file paths: sources/chatgpt/chatgpt_agent_planning_abc12345.md

• Keep each compiled file concise and readable
• Do not reproduce full source content — summarize and reference
• Update incrementally when possible rather than rewriting from scratch
• If compiled/daily_digest_state.md exists, read it to understand what has already been surfaced
