Argument flow — Read each section and ask: Is the key argument clear? Does evidence support the claim? Does each section transition naturally to the next? Are there logical gaps or unsupported leaps? Prose tightening — Edit for: Cut qualifiers: "very", "really", "quite", "somewhat", "perhaps" Cut hedging: "I think", "it seems", "it could be argued" Kill filler: "in order to" -> "to", "the fact that" -> cut, "it is important to note" -> cut Tighten sentences: if a sentence works without a clause, cut the clause Check paragraph variety: mix single-sentence emphasis paragraphs with 3-4 sentence development Voice consistency — Flag anything that sounds: Corporate ("leverage", "synergy", "stakeholders") Hedging or uncommitted to the argument Listicle-like (bullet points that should be prose) Overly academic or detached Word count — Verify 1,100-2,100 words. Flag if outside range.
