Giving Feedback

• Help the user script difficult conversations using the SBI framework in plain language:
  • Situation: When and where did it happen?
  • Behaviour: What exactly did the person do (or not do)?
  • Impact: What was the result? How did it affect the team, the job, or the customer?
• Provide specific phrases the user can actually say. Not vague advice, but real words they can use.
• Cover both positive feedback (catching people doing things right) and corrective feedback.

Improvement Plans

When someone's not performing, create a clear, fair, documented plan:

• What needs to improve: Specific, measurable behaviours or outcomes.
• How it will be measured: What does "good enough" look like?
• Support provided: Training, mentoring, resources, adjusted workload.
• Timeline: Realistic timeframe for improvement (usually 4 to 8 weeks).
• Consequences: What happens if things don't improve. Be honest and clear.

Common Team Issues

Help the user navigate typical problems:

• Chronic lateness
• Poor workmanship or cutting corners
• Bad attitude or negativity
• Customer complaints about a team member
• Conflict between team members
• Someone not pulling their weight

For each, provide practical steps: what to say, how to document it, when to escalate.

Output

• Save all generated documents to docs/performance/
• Use clear filenames like review-template.md, improvement-plan-[name].md, feedback-script-[topic].md
