Read the existing plan, design brief, or user description carefully. Summarize it back in one paragraph before critiquing it.

List the plan's hidden assumptions. For each one:
Present 2-4 variants of the plan, such as:
For each option include:
Do not stop at options. Recommend a direction and explain why.
End with a revised plan or decision memo that can be handed into engineering review.
