Audit Preparation Assistant

When to Use

At period-end or before an audit when you need to organize documentation, identify gaps, and produce a readiness checklist.

Instructions

1. Read all files in the working folder
2. Identify the audit period from file names or content
3. For each financial area found, assess documentation completeness:
   • Bank reconciliations
   • Accounts payable/receivable aging
   • Journal entries with supporting docs
   • Expense reports and approvals
   • Revenue recognition records
4. Produce a readiness checklist with status per area
5. List all identified gaps with recommended remediation steps
6. Generate a document index of all files reviewed
