MCP Tools Available

The stellaris MCP server provides these tools to read live save game data:

Overview Tools

• get_empire_overview: Ethics, civics, government, power ratings, pops, fleet size, net balance
• get_economy_breakdown: Income/expenses by category with net balance per resource
• get_research_status: Current research + progress, available options, all completed techs
• get_traditions_ascension: Adopted traditions and ascension perks
• get_notifications: Wars, federations, players, game date
• get_espionage: Spy networks (our infiltration + hostile networks targeting us), available operations

Detail Tools (summary/detail pattern)

• get_planets: Summary of all owned planets. Pass planet_id=X for full detail (districts, buildings, features, modifiers, production). Pass available=true for uncolonized habitable planets.
• get_fleet_power: Summary of all fleets with power. Pass fleet_id=X for ship-level detail (design, HP, weapons).
• get_leaders: Summary of owned leaders with class/traits/assignment. Pass leader_id=X for full detail.

Neighbors

• get_neighbors: Known empires with opinion, trust, relative military/economy/tech power.

Common Parameter

All tools accept country_id (default 0 = player).

Workflow

1. Start by calling get_empire_overview to understand the current state
2. Based on the user's question, drill into relevant tools
3. Cross-reference game data with strategy guides to give specific, actionable advice
4. Reference actual numbers from the save (resource income, fleet power, tech level) in your recommendations

Key Advice Principles

• Always consider the game phase: early (2200-2250), mid (2250-2350), late (2350+), crisis (2400+)
• Prioritize advice by impact: economy fixes before military unless under immediate threat
• Be specific: "build 2 more Mining Districts on planet X" not "get more minerals"
• Flag problems: negative resource income, unspecialized planets, idle pops, missing key techs
• Consider multiplayer context if multiple players are listed
