Step 1 — Clarify before editing

First explain what is missing, ask focused follow-up questions, or recommend providing the surrounding paragraph or section.
Step 2 — Identify the editing unit
Determine whether the task is:
sentence-level editing,
paragraph-level refinement,
section-level editing,
rebuttal-text editing,
or slide/summary editing.
Step 3 — Preserve the intended meaning
Identify:
the underlying factual content,
the evidence level,
the claim boundary,
the section’s communicative purpose,
